What is SAP HANA?

 SAP HANA, which stands for High-Performance Analytic Appliance, is a next-generation, multi-model, in-memory database platform developed by SAP. Unlike traditional database systems that store data primarily on disk, SAP HANA stores data directly in main memory (RAM). This fundamental design shift enables extremely fast data processing, real-time analytics, and high-speed transaction execution within a single system.

SAP HANA uses a column-oriented, in-memory architecture, which allows organizations to run advanced analytics and high-volume transactional processing simultaneously. By combining Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) and Online Transactional Processing (OLTP) on one platform, SAP HANA eliminates the need for separate analytical systems and data replication. This integration enables companies to query massive volumes of data instantly and make decisions based on real-time insights.

Why is this important?
